6 WAYS TO BEAT THE MONDAY MORNING BLUES

I’m going back to work this upcoming Monday, as I’m sure the majority of people will be doing too. Even if you love your job it’s likely that you’ll still be dreading going back, mainly because it marks the end of the festive period! As such, I thought I’d put together a few things I like to do to help make the transition that little bit easier.

Get yourself a new book for the commute. I always look forward to reading a new book so I make sure I’ve got a few good ones lined up for when I go back to work. My book of choice for Monday morning? Amy Poehler’s Yes Please.

Make a list of thing’s you’re looking forward to. Try to write down 3 things that you’re looking forward to at work that week. It automatically puts you in a better, and more positive, frame of mind.

Get organised. Clean out your bag, buy your travel ticket, get your clothes ironed, plan what you’re going have for breakfast. Basically do everything to make sure Monday morning is as smooth as possible.

Pamper. An obvious one, but I like to have a small pamper session. Chuck on a face mask, run yourself a hot bath, give yourself a manicure – anything that makes you feel a little bit better/more confident.

New stationary. Not necessary at all, but I LOVE a fresh new notebook for the New Year. There’s just something about new stationary that makes going back to work a little easier.

Line up some good TV. I get really bad Sunday night blues. If I so much as hear the Antique’s Roadshow theme tune I go into meltdown, so I make sure we’ve got some good TV lined up that we can watch with a little treat and a brew.
